Week One Complete!

We've made it through our first week, and it was a wonderful week!  The class is working on getting used to a new teacher, classmates, and our routine.  They are doing an awesome job!  We have begun Reading Workshop, worked on place value, decorated writing notebooks, played some games.  Our read aloud is:  A Dog's Life.  Ask your child about the character telling the story, a dog named Squirrel, and her brother Bone. 
Open House is on Thursday, 9/19, from 7:00 - 8:00 for grades 3 - 5.  My classroom presentation will begin at 7:30.  I hope to see you there!  Have a wonderful weekend! 

Day 2

Awesome 2 days of school!!  It's fun getting to know all of my students.  They have so many interests and talents!  Today they chose jobs and got to know our classroom library.  They are allowed to borrow books from the room.  Hope they are enjoying school as much as I am:)

I hope you're enjoying the last weekend of summer vacation!  I'm so excited about our first day on Monday!  I will greet you at the classroom door when you arrive, shake your hand, and say, "Goodmorning!"  I'm always a little nervous the first day, so I hope you smile and reply, "Goodmorning Mrs. Szczech!"  See you soon!

Hello Parents and Third Graders,
